Media training 101 for small businesses

Great news: you just scored a big press interview to promote your business. The story will expose your brand to the perfect new audience and drive meaningful traffic to your website. So…don't blow it. Yes, just as quickly as the excitement for the opportunity arrived, the realization that you now have to do an interview sets in. I get it—press interviews can absolutely be intimidating. The resulting coverage represents a significant opportunity to acquire new customers, drive sales, or raise awareness, and you want to be sure to represent your brand well and really compel the audience to check out your company. On top of that, you have to contend with adrenaline and nerves in the moment. You may be thinking, "So many other business owners are so polished and articulate in their interviews. How am I going to pull that off?" Deep breath. A successful interview is usually the result of good media training: preparation and practice in advance of an interview. I've tr

Zapier now has 2,000+ apps, so you can automate just about anything

Big news: Zapier now supports 2,000+ apps! We worked hard to hit this milestone early this year. Data Soap gets the nod as the 2,000th app.

Zapier has come a long way since its inception in 2011. Getting SMS alerts for PayPal payments was the demo Bryan, Mike, and I showed off at Startup Weekend Columbia. And our first customer collected email addresses via Wufoo to build his AWeber mailing list.

Over the last nine years, we've worked hard to partner with both our customers and the SaaS community to make sure Zapier supports the apps you use. We never want you to feel like you can't automate something with Zapier.

In order to do this, we focused on making it incredibly easy to build integrations via the Zapier Developer Platform, enabling companies like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook to build on our platform and offer automation to their users. It's an open ecosystem where anyone with an API can connect it to other APIs—and it's intentionally free. So if you have an app that you'd like on Zapier, the Developer Platform is the place to go.

Laying this groundwork has paid off in a big way. Over the last year, we've partnered with 600 new apps. Zapier now supports 2,000+ apps in total, and we're adding new ones every day.

Zapier customers use these integrations to do amazing things. DonorsChoose, for example, uses Zapier to streamline meetings and email campaigns as they raise millions of dollars for classrooms across America. Kern River Outfitters—a family-owned whitewater rafting business—uses Zapier to keep track of waiver forms and save countless employee hours. Typeform, a fast-growing online form app and Zapier partner, also uses Zapier internally. ScholarMatch—a San Francisco nonprofit that helps low-income students apply to, pay for, and succeed in college—uses Zapier to quickly respond to student questions. These sorts of automations free up time so organizations can focus on their core mission.

The new apps on our platform open up even more possibilities. Now Zapier users can do things like:

And much more.

These examples show how our expanding ecosystem helps Zapier users like you be more productive. At the end of the day, it's not just about attracting big-name partners for us. It's about empowering our users to do their best work.

Calendy testimonial

Millions of users rely on Zapier every day to connect apps like these, and we're delighted that Zapier is a core part of their workflows. Automation shouldn't be something that only the elite can do—it should be for everyone.

We're thrilled that leading SaaS companies continue to benefit from partnering with Zapier. As we move into 2020 and beyond, we're looking forward to making automation easier and more accessible for everyone.
